Zip Menu | Actions

The choices on the Actions menu vary according to which notebook page is active in the zip section, View / Refresh or Add / Update.

Actions for View / Refresh

Add New Files to Zip Add files to the current zip file. A dialog will appear for selecting files from a disk drive. To select multiple files, hold down the Shift key while clicking on the first and last files to add, or hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on individual files to add.

Extract Extract selected files in the View/Refresh list from the current zip file. To select multiple files, hold down the Shift key while clicking on the first and last files to add, or hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on individual files to add. A dialog will appear for controlling how extractions are performed: see Extract Zipped Files.

Freshen Freshen the files in the current zip file. If a file on disk that corresponds to a zipped file is newer, the file on disk replaces the zipped file.

Rename in Zip Rename a file in the zip file. This does not affect any file on disk.

Delete from Zip Remove a file from the zip file. This does not affect any file on disk.

Test Integrity (CRC) Test the integrity of the current zip file.

Select All Select all files in the View/Refresh list, that is, all files in the current zip file.

Select by Wildcard Select files in the View/Refresh list by wildcards, e.g., “chap1?.doc”.

Invert Selection Reverse the selected and unselected states of the files in the View/Refresh list.

Clear Selections Clear all selections in the View/Refresh list.

Add Comment to Zip Add a comment to the current zip file.

Actions for Add / Update

Add Now Immediately add the files selected in the Add/Update list of files.

Update Now Immediately update the files selected in the Add/Update list of files. If a selected file is newer than a corresponding file in the zip file, it replaces the corresponding file. If a selected file is not in the zip file, it is added.

Move Now Immediately move the files selected in the Add/Update list of files. If a selected file is newer than a corresponding file in the zip file, it replaces (freshens) the corresponding file. If a selected file is not in the zip file, it is added. The selected files are then deleted from disk.

Add Comment to Zip Add a comment to the current zip file.
