Finders Keepers™

This is the latest version of Finders Keepers™.  Download it and install it to the same folder where you originally installed Finders Keepers™, e.g., \Program Files\Finders Keepers\.  If you need it, there is online help for installing.  See What's New for a list of version changes.

To update a copy already on your computer, click here to download.  This update works only if you have previously installed version 2.00 or 2.01.

Licensed users of version 1.11 or earlier  You can upgrade to version 2 free of charge.

1. Uninstall your current version.  Use "Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs."  (Failure to uninstall will not cause problems.)
2. Click here to download. version 2.  You can install it in the same directory that contained the earlier version.
3. As a licensed, registered user, you can get an unlock key for each license you have at Registered User Access.  You will need your Customer ID and your password.  If you need help on this matter, please contact us by email only.  Please do not contact us by phone.  Sorry, we can not give both free upgrades and free phone support.

Supplements for Finders Keepers

You need this file only if Finders Keepers 2.00 or later gave a message at start-up that your PC does not have a file (hhctrl.ocx) necessary to run HTML help files (with a .CHM extension).  This zip file contains a Win95-style help file (with a .HLP extension) that runs without hhctrl.ocx.

Download the zip file and extract all contained files to the folder where you installed Finders Keepers™, e.g., \Program Files\Yadu Digital\Finders Keepers\.

An alternative to downloading this file is to update your Windows help system.

Download fkhelp_hlp.zip (approx. 134 k)

This is the file skipword.txt, which is used when an index is made in 'Indexes | Make'.  It was omitted from some earlier installation files for Finders Keepers.  If your version of Finders Keepers is 1.00 or earlier, or if you try 'Indexes | Make' and get an error message that 'skipword.txt' can not be found, you need this file.  Download skipword.zip and unzip it to the folder where you installed Finders Keepers.

Book Writer™

Download the complete installation file.

If you have installed an earlier version of Book Writer, see 'Uninstall' below. 

This is the latest version of Book Writer™.  If you need it, there is online help for installing.  See What's New for a list of version changes.

Uninstall your current version.  To uninstall your current version, go to "Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs."  (Failure to uninstall will not cause problems but will leave three unnecessary files with a total size of about 300k in the program's folder if you are updating v. 1.92 or earlier.)

Supplements for Book Writer

The zip file contains the dictionary and thesaurus, bwthesaurus.wwd, which is not included with Book Writer's installation. 

Download the zip file and extract bwthesaurus.wwd to a subfolder named "Thesaurus" within the folder where you installed Book Writer™, e.g., \Program Files\Yadu Digital\Book Writer\Thesaurus\.

The zip file contains the UK English dictionary for Book Writer's spell checker. You need this only if you have version 2.00c or later AND the program could not download and install the UK dictionary automatically.  (In Book Writer v. 2.00c+, see Tools | Set Options | General | Spell Check.)

Update your help system--an alternative to Win95-style Help

If your program gave a message at start-up that your computer does not have a file (hhctrl.ocx) necessary to run HTML help files, you can download a Win95-style help file as described above, or you can use Microsoft's program hhupd.exe to update your Windows help system so that HTML help is available on your computer.

Run hhupd.exe only if you are using Windows 95/95/ME/NT.  If you have Windows 2000 or XP, you do not need hhupd.exe.
